Sheffield schoolboy seriously injured in collision

A SHEFFIELD schoolboy was today fighting for life after he ran into the path of a car and suffered serious head injuries.

The nine-year-old ran into Harborough Avenue, close to its junction with Fretson Road, Manor, at around 4.30pm yesterday.

Police said the driver of the blue Honda Civic involved swerved to avoid the young boy but was unable to avoid a collision.

The injured boy was rushed to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, where he was detained with life threatening injuries.

A police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is under way.
