PUPILS at a Sheffield secondary school are to be reminded how to behave responsibly in public - and asked to help a police investigation - after an attack on a bus passenger.
Alex Devine, aged 21, from Walkley, was subjected to ‘humiliating’ sexual taunts by youngsters who spat down her top as she stood at the foot of the stairs on a crowded city-bound number 88 double decker bus on Ecclesall Road.
Police believe those responsible for the attack, on the afternoon of March 16, were Silverdale School pupils travelling home.
Mike Pollard, deputy headteacher at the Bents Green school, said: “When our students come back after Easter this is something we will be raising with them.
“We urge anyone who experiences an incident like this in future to contact us straight away if they suspect our students are involved.”
PC Tom Goodhill, South Yorkshire Police schools liaison officer, who is working with the school as part of his investigation into the attack. urged pupils to name those responsible.
