Sheffield RUFC march on but Sheffield Tigers suffer sixth sucessive defeat

But Sheffield Tigers sank to their sixth straight defeat in National Two North, going down 34-12 against Tynedale at Dore Moor.

Sheffield, who hope that their season’s exile in the Midlands will be a route to promotion into the same league as Tigers, went ahead in the opening minute when fly-half Andy Hodgson slotted over a penalty goal. The visitors replied three minutes later, but that was as close as they got. A try by flanker Ryan Seabright, converted by Hodgson, gave Sheffield a 10-8 interval lead, and they drove home their advantage with touchdowns from flanker Matt Adcock, prop Adam McKay, full-back Fergus Wood and prop Dan Rylance, all four converted by Hodgson.
