Earlier this week, bosses spoke of their dismay after a huge mountain of rubbish and food waste was dumped outside a shop in Darnall.

After highlighting the issue on Facebook, the animal charity was deluged with offers of help – with three skip firms all offering skips to help get rid of the waste.

A spokesman said: “So earlier on this week we put out a desperate plea for help with the remainder of the flytipping at our superstore... and as always the response has been amazing.

“We are so overwhelmed with the generosity and the people willing to help us in our hour of need.”

Fletchers Skips, Bradwell Skip Services and KCM Skip Hire all donated skips and the statement added: “Thankfully we had multiple companies help us as the night of our appeal more rubbish and big waste appeared. So we have needed all 3!"

Fridges, freezers and household waste were also dumped.

“These amazing people come highly recommended by us and have been nothing short of fantastic these last few days.

“Thank you again for the bottom of our hearts and from each and every furry baby we have in our care.”

“The people of Sheffield are always amazing in supporting our centre in a crisis- and it seems we just keep getting one after another at the moment.”
