Sheffield rowers dig in to help hospice

MEMBERS of Sheffield University’s rowing club abandoned the water and crashed through the pain barrier to raise almost £1,000 for the city’s St Luke’s Hospice.

The Pain Barrier Challenge was a 10km event through wood and parkland, muddy tracks and open fields, ponds and water obstacles and then on to steep hills and ravines.

Natalie King, for the club, said: “It was cold, wet and we had to work mighty hard, but we made it through – and are delighted to support St Luke’s.”
