Sheffield roads to be closed for pavement resurfacing work

A number of roads in Stocksbridge are to be closed while pavement resurfacing work is carried out.

Kenworthy Road, Shay House Lane, McIntyre Road, Linden Crescent, Olive Road, Sheldon Road and Marsden Road are to be effected.

A Sheffield Council spokesman said: “The roads will need to be closed in order to carry out the work safely. As the work is a two or three stage process, the roads will only be closed on certain days over the work period.

Normal working hours will be between 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday only. However, on roads with schools - Shay House Lane and McIntyre Road - working hours will be 9.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday and work may need to be carried out at the weekend to maintain the programme.

“Temporary road signs will be displayed five days before work starts, stating the dates of work and parking restrictions on your road.

“There will be no on-street parking or vehicle access to properties on the roads we are working on, during working hours. Most roads will be open and on-street parking will be as normal at other times. Please let our on-site supervisor know if you need vehicle access to your property for urgent reasons.”
