Sheffield road re-opens after overturned car removed

A car overturned in a collision in Sheffield this morning.

Emergency services were alerted to a two-car collision near Asda, Handsworth Road, Handsworth, at 7.50am.

The smash led to the closure of the road between Oakley Road and the Sheffield Parkway, but it has now re-opened.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Police were called to the incident at about 7.50am this morning.

"Two cars have been involved in the collision.

"The extent of injuries is not yet known although they are not thought to be serious."

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
