Sheffield restaurant Forcibi launches with ‘big hearted’ Italian generosity ahead of half marathon
Sheffield’s newest restaurant Forbici has a generous gift in store for all athletes taking part in this weekend’s Half Marathon.
The new pizzeria, located in Millennium Square, right at the heart of Sheffield’s city centre, officially opened its doors yesterday (Friday, March 27) by handing out 1,000 free pizzas to customers.
But for Forbici, the generosity doesn’t stop there as they will also be giving away free pizza to anyone who takes part in Sunday’s highly-anticipated Sheffield Half Marathon.
Anyone presenting their race medal will receive a pizza on the house in celebration of the achievement. This can be achieved when purchasing any drink after the race.
For those not taking part in the Half Marathon at the weekend, there’s still plenty to play for, with the restaurant also offering all customers the opportunity to try and win a 50 per cent discount on their food bill, whether that's pizza, sharing plates or the full table spread.

All they need to do is simply win a game of the Italian version of the good old fashioned rock, paper, scissors.
It’s an Italian restaurant renowned for its ‘Biga’ dough that creates a risen crust which is cut four-ways with scissors. The restaurant specialises in Neapolitan pizzas along with classics such as the Marinara, Margherita and American, alongside Italian-inspired creations like the Provola e Pepe, topped with San Marzano tomato, smoked provola, black pepper and fresh basil, as well as indulgent white-base pizzas such as the Porcini e Tartufo, loaded with Fior di latte, porcini mushrooms, Italian truffle sauce and chives.
The restaurant originally wanted to open until 1am but has agreed to a 12.30am closing time with alcohol sales finishing at midnight after objections were made by two residents. These have now been withdrawn.
