A Sheffield recycling company is offering a reward for any information leading to the recovery of a skip stolen over the weekend.

Brazen thieves made off with a skip belonging to DJB Recycling from Sheffield Cold Stores on the Roman Ridge Road Industrial Estate in Wincobank.

CCTV captured a white transit IVECO lorry with a blue lifting hook, arriving at the site and leaving with the 22 yd skip at around 1.40pm on Sunday, February 26.

The stolen skip is described as a blue open-top unit and is 239cm in height or around seven foot.

The skips are designed to contain and transport large amounts of recyclable materials, such as cardboard, paper and packaging.

Richard Webster, Business Development Manager at DJB Recycling, said: “We are sad to say that one of our skips has been stolen from a site on Roman Ridge Industrial Estate.

“These skips are important for reducing the amount of recyclable materials that goes into landfills, and improving the carbon footprint of businesses across Sheffield.

“We appreciate all the support we have received so far and if anyone has information on the skip and its whereabouts, we would greatly appreciate them getting in touch. We are offering a reward for any information that leads to the skip being returned to us.”

A reward figure is still being drawn up by recycling bosses.
