Sheffield raise awareness of search for missing friend Zisimos Souflas with marathon run

Michael Walsh and Liam Ronan will run the Manchester marathon to raise awareness of friend Zisimos Souflas, who disappeared in Nepal in 2012.

Michael Walsh and Liam Ronan, both 31, will take on the course tomorrow (Sunday, April 10) with their friend Zisimos Souflas in mind. Zisimos, known as Zis, was visiting Nepal when he disappeared in April 2012.

Zis did some volunteer work and sightseeing before trekking from Kathmandu to Namche Bazaar in the Sagarmatha National Park, following the Everest Base Camp Trail. He stayed there on the night of April 23, 2012, and hasn’t been seen since.

Michael, Liam and Zis became friends at Sheffield’s All Saints Secondary School.

On the day of the marathon, Michael, Liam and the Souflas family will wear special T-shirts with images of Zis and the hashtag #Run4Zis. They hope this will inspire people to raise awareness of Zis’ disappearance on social media.
