The day included tours of the facilities at the new £18m sixth form college, led by current A-Level students who previously attended Ecclesfield School.

Liz Leek said: “The pupils worked really hard and I know that they will be highly successful. I look forward to welcoming them as A level students in September.”

Andy James, Assistant Headteacher at Ecclesfield School, said: “Our GCSE students undertook workshops in an aspirational learning environment. We were warmly welcomed and the day was well organised.

“I would like to thank Barnsley Sixth Form College for providing a learning atmosphere that will help to give our students the self-belief to succeed in their final exams.”
