A post said: “We have worked hard to implement all necessary measures to keep our staff and customers safe.

"Regretably, a key staff member along with a small number of customers have now tested Covid positive after visiting our premises on or immediately after August 6.

"The pub is now closed for further deep cleaning.”

A member of staff at pub posted a message on August 9 warning customers about their positive diagnosis but at the time, reassured punters that the pub would remain ‘open as usual’.

The pub worker said they had been in touch with everybody who visited the premises on Thursday and logged their details via the the Track and Trace system.

A post on August 9 said: "Today I’ve received my results for Covid-19 and they have come back positive.

“I wasn’t in work Tuesday or Wednesday so I’ve been in touch with everyone on Track and Trace who signed in Thursday.

“Hopefully you will all be safe.”
