Sheffield pub is a community asset

A Sheffield pub has become the latest to be declared an '˜asset of community value' - offering it some protection from being redeveloped.

An application by the Sheffield Campaign for Real Ale to have The Cremorne, on London Road, given the status was approved by Sheffield Council. Last year the group applied to have 11 pubs declared local assets, but the council rejected nine.

One of the nine - The Three Tuns, on Silver Street Head - was resubmitted and approved last month.
