Sheffield police chief in appeal for information to help detectives catch killer

Sheffield's District Commander has issued a new appeal for information to help detectives find the killer responsible for stabbing a young dad-of-three to death.

Chief Superintendent Stuart Barton said members of the public could be sitting on 'nuggets of information' which could help detectives crack the case.

COURT: Jurors to resume deliberations in trial of three Sheffield men accused of murderJarvin, from Gleadless, was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

Detectives are treating it as a targeted attack.

Chf Supt Barton said: "I was at the police cordon on the day of the attack and people were coming up to us and saying they were appalled and wanted to help us.

"There has been a good response from the community but there could be some nuggets of information that people have not yet come forward with which we need so we can piece it all together.

"There might be people out there with little gems which could help us.

"Jarvin was a young man with three little children and a partner."

Detectives want motorists who were in the area on the day of the attack to provide their dash cam footage in the hope that the incident, the build up or the aftermath may have been captured.

Four men, aged 24, 25, and two 26-year-olds, were arrested in connection with the murder before being bailed pending further enquiries.

Three of the suspects are from Sheffield and one is from Rotherham.
