Sheffield petrol station where JCB was driven into wall in cash machine theft remains closed
A Sheffield petrol station remains closed today three days after thieves drove a JCB into its wall and stole a cash machine.
A gang of men used a JCB to pull the machine from the wall of the Co-op petrol station Worksop Road, in Aston, at around 2.50am on Friday.
They then loaded it onto a Ford Transit van and fled the scene.
The incident caused extensive damage to the building and the store and filling station remained taped off and closed at 1.30pm on Monday.
People living on Worksop Road said the incident was over 'within a matter of minutes'.
The police helicopter was also involved in the search for the vehicles after the incident and investigations to find those responsible remain ongoing.
