TREE pruning is taking place in a Sheffield park over the next 10 to 12 weeks.

Sheffield Council says the project is necessary at Crookes Valley Park following a health and safety inspection.

Nathan McWhinnie, a trees, woodlands and countryside officer, said: “We are felling dead, dying or dangerous trees and removing deadwood.

“In this case, the work in Crookes Valley Park includes the trimming back of one subsiding branch and the removal of a hung-up whitebeam from the scrub wood.”
