A DEDICATED hospital nurse from Sheffield will be pulling on her walking boots this weekend to raise money for the cancer patients she cares for.
Natalie Newbould, from Millhouses, is a nurse at Weston Park Hospital, and her daily work has inspired her to take part in the charity’s sponsored Light The Night walk.
The 27-year-old enjoys walking in her free time, and has entered the event with her husband Adam, aged 30, as well as her mum Alison, 52, and dad David, 63.
Natalie said the charity event will be ‘a great evening’.
“I love being outdoors, and it’s going to be a real family affair,” she said.
“The cancer charity plays a vital role in the work that we do and Light The Night is a brilliant opportunity to raise funds. It’s great to be part of such a dedicated team and work with so many inspiring patients.”
Walkers will be rambling through Ecclesall Woods on Saturday from 7pm, completing a 4.5km route.
Free torches are available and participants are being encouraged to wear glow-in-the-dark outfits and accessories. Live music and entertainment will also be on offer at the Discovery Centre in the woods.
Proceeds from the event will help the charity achieve its goal of raising £1.6 million this year to support cancer research.
