Sheffield nightclub wins smoking area bid
A nightclub has been granted temporary permission for an outdoor seating area and mobile bar - despite a recommendation by council officers to refuse the application.
Tank, next to the Odeon cinema on Arundel Gate in the city centre, will be able to use the space as a smoking area from 11pm to 5am.
Officers argued that the set-up was causing the environment to ‘deteriorate’ and was ‘not in character’ with the surroundings. But permission was granted for two years by councillors.
