Sheffield news LIVE: Pubs, restaurants and hairdressers open across city
Pubs, restaurants and hairdressers are all re-opening their doors across the city today in the biggest easing of coronavirus lockdown restrictions since March.
Bars will be back in business – but drinkers have been warned to behave responsibily amid fears of a second wave of COVID-19 as well as potential disorder and an impact on policing and health resources across the city.
But anyone visiting the city’s pubs today will face a far different experience from their last visit in March.
Drinkers will have to leave their details and strict rules on social distancing will be in place.
There will be measures including no standing at the bar, ordering drinks from tables, plastic glasses and no loud music or live entertainment.
Meanwhile, many will be looking forward to their first trip to the hair salon for several months, but again, customers will have to wear masks with stylists donning full PPE equipment.
