Sheffield netball challenge in aid of support dogs

Sheffield based charity Support Dogs is set to benefit from a fundraising netball tournament being staged by the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation (IMCF).

The event takes places on Sunday July 17 at the English Institute of Sport.

Support Dogs trains and provides specialist assistance dogs to support children and adults with disabilities, autism and epilepsy.

Danny Anderson, fundraising manager at Support Dogs, said: “Irwin Mitchell are long-standing and valued supporters of our charity and the netball tournament is a great way for us to reach out to more people and tell them about the great work we do.”

The netball challenge for female teams takes place at the English Institute of Sport - Sheffield on Coleridge Road and is open to people of all abilities aged 16 and over.

Rachel Cox, solicitor and committee member of IMCF, said: “The netball tournament is an annual event which caters for teams of all abilities who come together to support local charitable causes. Support Dogs are a local charity which is close to the hearts of many of the staff here at Irwin Mitchell LLP and IMCF are proud to be supporting such a worthy cause. The tournament is an action packed day for those who are brave enough to enter a team.

The netball tournament runs from 8am to 6pm. There is a non-refundable entrance fee of £50 per team, plus £10 per player. All money raised will be donated to Support Dogs.
