Suzanne Wood first dyed her hair bright pink and vivid green to signify the successful battles her niece had with lymphoma and her cousin had with breast cancer.

Then she shaved off her creative new hair style in memory of her dad Walter Butler who lost his battle to cancer in 2009. To add further significance, she used the razor on November 28 - which would have been her dad’s birthday.

She managed to raise more than £1800 for Cancer Research UK.

Suzanne, who is a warehouse manager at baby clothing and footwear brand Poco Nido, said: “When I first said I was going to shave off my hair it was a bit of a joke, but then I said it again and I knew that it was something I had to do. As a little girl my dad used to brush my hair every night before bed. We were very close and choosing to lose my hair was symbolic. I am beginning to enjoy my new look!

“My husband Paul has been a fantastic campaign manager and my daughter Chloe has supported me every step of the way.

“I’d also like to say thank you to the team at Poco Nido. They’ve provided me with a warm and happy place to work and I can’t thank my colleagues Catherine and Jo enough for helping me get back to full health.”
