Louise Haigh, who was elected as Sheffield Heeley MP in May will be join the Shadow Cabinet Office team as the Shadow Digital Minister.
She will be responsible for shadowing the Government’s digital strategy, the Freedom of Information Act, data security and privacy.

“I said before my election that I wanted to be part of a new style of politics; open, inclusive and one which everyone can engage and get involved in.
“I will take that approach into my shadow ministerial role.
“I will be joining the Shadow Cabinet Office team, giving me the chance to raise a wide range of issues, including those which will move to the centre of the debate over the coming years such as how we can ensure that the digital revolution works for the interests of all in society and navigates the line between privacy and security.”
She assured her constituents in Sheffield Heeley that they would remain her ‘first and abiding priority’.
