An afternoon of coffee, cake and music is promised at a Sheffield café next week in aid of a cancer charity.

The Harland Café, John Street, has teamed up with Paul Blomfield, Labour MP for Sheffield Central, for an event next Wednesday to raise money for Sheffield charity Cavendish Cancer Care, which supports patients and relatives following cancer diagnoses.

The fundraiser starts at 2.30pm, featuring entertainment by members of band Isembard’s Wheel.

It is part of a new Cavendish campaign called Cake Break, which encourages people to share cakes during April, collecting donations in the process.

The Broomhall-based charity supports more than 1,500 families every year – see for details.
