Sheffield motorway junction to close next week

Drivers in Sheffield will have to find alternative routes when a motorway junction closes next week.

The planned work will take place at junction 31 (Aston) overnight on Thursday and Friday of next week (May 10 and 11).

The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am but drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

The schedule of the work is as follows:

The northbound entry slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Thursday 10 May.

The northbound exit slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Thursday 10 May.

The southbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Friday 11 May.

In addition to the work at junction 31, the northbound entry slip road at junction 30 (Barlborough) will be closed overnight for two nights from Tuesday 8 May.

The Highways Agency said all their improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
