SMOOTHER surfacing will be laid on the M1 motorway near Sheffield in a £214,000 project - but motorists are warned of disruption while work takes place.

The project starts on Monday, April 30, and will be completed by Saturday, May 5.

It involves resurfacing the entry slip road on to the southbound M1 at Junction 35 at Sheffield as well as all three lanes on the southbound carriageway for about a mile. All the work will be taking place between 8pm and 6am each night, when there will be lane and slip road closures.
