Motorists have been warned to expect delays from today following the start of a major roadworks scheme in Sheffield.
Work is due to start today, May 30, on the Bochum Parkway following the start of construction of a new £35 million retail park.
Planning permission for the new St James Retail Park was granted in August last year and is due to open in Spring 2018, creating 250 jobs.
A new traffic light controlled entrance will be constructed off Bochum Parkway with adjustments also being made to Meadowhead Roundabout.
The roadworks are expected to continue until after Christmas.
Construction workers have warned that lanes will be closed on the Bochum Parkway and adjacent roads for certain periods over the week, including the weekend.
However, they stressed that they would endeavour to ensure that the roads would return to full running capacity during peak traffic and rush hours.
Footpaths and cycle paths will also be diverted around sections of the works during periods and bus stop locations may also be altered.
