Sheffield mosque hosting careers event

SHEFFIELD’S Ahmadiyya Muslim Association is holding a careers fair to help youngsters taking GCSEs and A Levels.

The event is on Sunday, February 24, between noon and 2pm, at the Bait-ul-Afiyat Mosque, Sussex Street, Attercliffe.

Bilal Atkinson, the association’s north east regional president, said: “While there is great emphasis on the acquisition of knowledge in Islam, it is unfortunate many young people are deterred from this pursuit because of rising entrance fees, ever-greater entrance requirements and the challenging economic climate.

“Pointing these young people in the right direction early on is of paramount importance. Our main audience will be at their GCSE and A-Level grades.”
