Sheffield misses out on top 10 of UK's best cities for students

With August being a big month for exam results many students around the country will be looking at where they want to take the next step in their education.

Fresh Student Living researched the UK's Best Student Cities – but Sheffield was not among the top ten best.

More than 400,000 international students choose to study in the UK each year and the annual index analyses factors like student mix, employer activity, affordability and more to create a list of the best student cities worldwide.

Here’s the UK’s top ten

1. LONDON

2. EDINBURGH

3. MANCHESTER

4. GLASGOW

5. COVENTRY

6. NOTTINGHAM

7. BIRMINGHAM

8. NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE

9. ABERDEEN

10. BRIGHTON

Glasgow was named as the best city to work in for salaries, while Cardiff was named the cheapest place to live and Belfast the happiest.
