Sheffield martial arts academy fighting fit thanks to funding
A Sheffield-based martial arts academy founded by 14-times world karate champion Megan Abel has been able to get '˜off the ground' thanks to funding from city firms UK Steel Enterprise and Shepherd Distribution.
Founded in January, Utopia Martial Arts teaches children various forms of martial arts, semi-contact kick-boxing and extreme martial arts.
The funding allowed the company, based at @theacademy in Shalesmoor, to purchase two complete fighting areas.
Megan runs the academy with the support of her sister Alicia - a brown belt in Karate and the current International Sports Kickboxing Association British Musical Weapons Champion.
