Sheffield man who helped set up Jasmyn Chan fundraising group in running for national award

Lewis Pask, aged 20, was expelled from school, left with no qualifications and readily admits he was a young tearaway growing up on the Manor Estate.

But after realising he must make drastic lifestyle changes, he set his sights on raising money for charity.

He and his friends set up the Jazzytastic charity fundraising team in memory of their friend, tragic hit-and-run victim Jasmyn Chan, who died aged just 14 when she was hit by a car in May 2014.

Lewis, of Norfolk Park, is now in the running for a National Diversity Award.

He said it was 'amazing' to be in with a chance to winning the role model category.

"This is my second year running, but I want it this year more than anything," he said.

"The support so far has been amazing from my family, fiancé and people who have been voting.

"I’m wanting to win it show other younger people that if you put your mind to stuff still like this can happen.

"Now I have three kids of myself who look up to me as a role model.

"I hope when they get older they can start doing the stuff I’ve done. They keep me going and I want to make them proud."
