Sheffield man fighting for life after savage attack

Detectives are appealing for information surrounding Graham Eddie, who was found in his property off Abbeydale Road with injuries indicating he had been recently assaulted.

Mr Eddie, aged 42, was discovered by a friend on Saturday, March 12 on Southcroft Walk, unconscious and with injuries to his face which included swelling and cuts.

He was immediately taken to hospital where on further examination by doctors, it was revealed he had underlying health issues, and his condition is now described as life-threatening.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further police enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Anna Sedgwick said: “We have already conducted a number of enquiries as part of the investigation, carried out visits in the community, spoken with residents and have a number of potential leads we are following up.

“However we need to uncover exactly what happened to Graham, to understand how he came to have the injuries that correlate with being the victim of an assault.

“We know he was on Abbeydale Road at around 5.20pm on Friday evening of March 11 and that he entered a local supermarket close to his address.

“It’s possible he was already injured at this time, however we need to trace his movements throughout that day to be able to piece together the circumstances of how, where and when he was assaulted.
