A police cordon remained outside the house where the incident happened over the weekend.

Mohammed is also charged with breaching a restraining order which prevents him from entering Nottinghamshire.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said Mohammed entered no pleas at the hearing at Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance next month.

Mohammed will appear at Nottingham Crown Court on June 20 for a preliminary hearing in relation to the charges he faces in connection with the attack.
