Plans have been unveiled to transform a set of industrial units in Sheffield into a car dealership.
The Burrows Motor Company has submitted a planning application to Sheffield Council seeking permission to open a new Mazda garage at 405-429 Penistone Road, Hillsborough.
The development would include a showroom, parts distribution area and car servicing and MOT area.
A planning document submitted with the application said automotive businessman Steve Burrows was looking forward to investing in the area.
It states: “Steve prides himself on investing in local areas and providing employment for local people.
“His success has been growing as a result of providing excellent customer service and retaining local custom over many years.”
If plans are approved, it would be one of the first major Mazda sites in the UK to receive the new ‘corporate identity’ makeover.
The application states: “The development will be a positive addition to the current businesses on Penistone Road and will strengthen trade in the area and provide valuable additional skilled employment to local people.”
A decision is expected by the end of March.
