Staff at Sheffield’s St Luke’s Hospice is appealing for any forgotten collection tins to be returned to the charity.
The small change donated by people in collecting tins on shop counters, bars and reception desks is a vital part of the fundraising for the Whirlow hospice.
Rebecca Foster, a hospice fundraising assistant, said: “We have an efficient system for keeping an eye on the collection tins out in the community, but just occasionally we will find there is one that has been overlooked and forgotten about.
“If you have a lonely or forgotten collection tin languishing in a drawer, on your counter or in a store room, let us know and we’ll arrange for it to be picked up, or send you the means to bank it yourself.
“It might only be filled with small change but that change can make a big difference to the lives of St Luke’s patients and their families.”
