Sheffield High School girl Erin Lobley smashes records as she wins double gold at Northern Indoor Athletics Championships at the English Institute of Sport

Hallamshire athletes took four titles with championship record performances at the Northern indoor championships for under 15 and under 13 athletes at the EIS.

Erin Lobley led the way with new records in the under 13 high jump (1.50) and shot (10.85).

Showing remarkable versatility, Lobley just missed a track medal finishing fourth in the 200 metres won by Doncaster’s Ava Jones in 27.01.

Erin competes in the Scottish National Indoors this weekend.

Ruby Simpson, second last year, went one better in the under 13 800 metres in a record breaking 2:19.88 coming just a week after leading Hallamshire to team victory in the Northern cross country.

The other Hallamshire record breaker was Acacia Williams-Hewitt in the under 15 200 metres clocking an impressive 25.21.

Hallamshire’s Gabriel Gisborne outclassed the opposition in the under 15 800 metres clocking an outstanding personal best of 2:02.14.

Other winner included Nicole Lannie (Doncster) in the under 13 hurdles (9.11) and William Foot (Chesterfield) in the under 15 pole vault (2.70).
