A notice posted on the gym's website says: "We are sorry to announce that your Virgin Active Health Club will be closing.

"We have been approached by Oxygen Freejumping, an indoor trampolining business who want to acquire the Sheffield Millhouses club and, after careful consideration, we have agreed to transfer it to them.

"The club will therefore cease trading as Virgin Active and close on June 30.

"We’d like to apologise in advance for any impact this may have on you. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty to Virgin Active."
