Sheffield gambling campaign gets political response

A Sheffield father and son campaigning for a more responsible gambling industry have received a '˜disappointing' response from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Recovering gambling addict David Bradford and his son, Adam, received the response, outlining a new social responsibility code, following a trip to Downing Street.

But Adam, of Waterthorpe, said it doesn’t go far enough and added: “It is only through our passion for real change in the gambling industry that we express our disappointment in the Government’s formal response.

“In 2016 we want to see a proper inquiry into the prevalence of gambling addiction which draws some sensible conclusions about how to curb gambling-related harm.”
