Staff and friends of a Sheffield florist have done a blooming marvellous job –raising £1,600 with a naked charity calendar.
Seven women and three men dared to bare for the 2014 naked calendar in aid of two worthwhile causes.
And a number of calendars are still available in Sarah’s Florist on Middlewood Road, Hillsborough.
Sarah Woodward, owner, said: “The feedback from customers so far has been great. Everybody has loved it.
“ The last one we did was in 2012 so people were really chuffed we did it again for 2014, after a year’s break.
“Some of the people in the calendar didn’t appear in the first one so it was quite nerve-racking for them.”
The photo shoot took place last summer at a smallholding in Bradfield.
The smallholding is home to a number of farm animals including pigs and chickens, tieing in with the animal theme of the calendar.
Photos were taken by Shelley Richmond and the models range in age from 28 to 70.
Sarah, aged 36, who lives near Penistone, said the chosen charities, Rain Rescue and Amy’s Retreat, were both causes close to her heart.
She said: “A few dogs from Rain Rescue appear in the calendar. I adopted a dog from the charity called Brock. He had been run over and his leg was that badly broken it had to be amputated.
“Our other charity is Amy’s Retreat who helped our friend Claire and her daughter Ellie in a very difficult time.
“Claire’s beautiful daughter Ellie passed away aged nine in October 2007 after suffering from a rare form of cancer.
“Over the past few years Claire has told us how Amy’s Retreat helped her and her family in many different ways to cope in the most difficult of times.”
With calendars still available, Sarah hopes they will beat the £3,000 they raised with the last calendar this time.
