Sheffield firms roll the dice for charity

The event was organised by Sheffield-based transit packaging manufacturer Loadhog and raised £500.

This amount was topped up by Loadhog’s charity team which decided to donate a total of £1,700 to the Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind and £300 for Maltby Lions Club.

More than 100 members of staff from companies under the Gripple umbrella tried their luck on the night.

Sue Coggin, from the SRSB, thanked everyone for their support.

She said: “This was an exciting and fun way to raise funds and we are delighted that so many members of the Gripple family supported the night. We are grateful to Loadhog for arranging the night. The money will be put to good use for blind and partially sighted people.”

This year Loadhog has donated £1,200 to four other charities.

These include the Revive Café, which supports Sheffield’s homeless people, the Include Foundation, which supports the city’s vulnerable young people, Rotherham Hospice, to help bereaved youngsters and Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospicecare, to fund a device to ease patients’ pain.
