Sheffield drama students to showcase talent at festival

Sheffield College is staging a drama festival this term with acting and musical theatre students showcasing their skills.

Thirty foundation degree students will deliver three performances during March and April at college’s Hillsborough campus on Livesey Street.

Foundation degrees are university level qualifications and students can go on to complete a final year and gain an honours degree.

The shows will take place in the college’s £8.8 million Centre for Creative Industries, which opened this academic year and boasts the latest high tech performing arts facilities.

Sheffield College Principal, Heather Smith, said: “I am delighted to see students developing the skills they need for successful careers. I would like to encourage the families of current and prospective students to attend the shows and see our talented students and brand new industry standard facilities.”
