SANTA Claus became Santa Paws when Owlerton Greyhound Stadium hosted Britain’s first grotto – for dogs.
Pampered pooches were taken by their owners to receive gifts, dog treats and toys, helped by volunteers from the Sheffield Retired Greyhound Trust.
The charity works closely with the stadium and rehomes former racing greyhounds after their careers.
Lynda Cattlin, a rehomer, said: “Dogs deserve to be spoiled just as much as the rest of the family and that’s what we were aiming to do.
“Once people have met greyhounds for rehoming they can’t stay away.”
