Sheffield Retired Greyhound Trust is stepping up its fundraising efforts as it looks to move to new premises.

The Trust, based at Gosling Moor Farm in Wortley, finds homes for retired greyhounds.

It hopes to find new premises with additional kennel space.

Supported by Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, the Trust had one of its most successful years to date in 2014, with 112 dogs going to new homes.

John Gilburn, chairman of the Trust and managing director of Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, said: “We are really excited about our plans for the Retired Greyhound Trust as we look to move to new premises and secure the future of the Trust.

“We hope the local community will support us in this as we continue with our fundraising and efforts to promote greyhound adoption.

“More and more people are seeing what lovely, affectionate dogs greyhounds are. Greyhounds are an incredibly docile breed so make great family pets and they can be a great choice for older people looking for a companion.”
