SHEFFIELD’S £572 million City Deal agreement with the Government will provide a ‘valuable opportunity’ to create green jobs.

A report by the Green Alliance has highlighted areas in which the agreement, which sees Sheffield receive Government funding for skills development, transport improvements and to help businesses, could boost low carbon industries.

The report – ‘Green cities: using city deals to drive low carbon growth’ – points out opportunities including work on developing the supply chain for nuclear industries, advanced manufacturing and the chance to retrofit energy efficiency improvements to buildings.
