A group of talented Sheffield dancers are in for a magical experience after being picked to perform at Disneyland Paris.
About 30 girls from The Sharon Berry School of Theatre Dance will be crossing the Channel after their fancy footwork impressed judges from the top holiday destination.
A video of a choreographed routine performed by the dancers beat off competition from dance schools across the country, all of which were vying for a place on the Disney Performing Arts on Stage programme.
Sharon Berry, founder and principal of the Chapeltown-based school, said: “We are big enough in numbers to be serious competition for neighbouring dance academies, but small enough to be tightly-knit and caring to fully live up to our motto: fun, fitness and friendship.”
To help cover the cost of the trip for the girls, aged six to 16, the school has set up a fundraising committee, which is busy organising a range of events and activities.
Teachers say plans are under way to ensure routines are choreographed and practiced in good time for the Disney performance in August 2015.
