Milk produced by popular city dairy Our Cow Molly, based in Dungworth, has been selected by Co-op supermarkets to sell in six of its Sheffield stores.

Eddie Andrew, owner of Our Cow Molly, which is near Dungworth, said he was pleased that the milk is now available to even more people.

He said: “The response to the Co-op offering its Sheffield customers milk that’s produced from cows grazing just a few miles from the stores has been amazing.

“The fact that each bottle of milk invites the customer to visit the farm offers real product provenance.”

The milk is now on sale at five Co-op stores in the city: Barber Road, in Crookes; Castle House on Angel Street; Crookes; Fulwood on Brooklands Avenue; and Ecclesall Road. It will be available at the Co-op’s Stannington store from August 26.

As part of the Co-op’s commitment to selling locally-sourced produce, Our Cow Molly milk is one of more than 50 local manufacturers and micro producers to provide its stores across Yorkshire with a wide range of locally produced items including: eggs; bakery; ice cream; sweets; chutneys; pies; sausages and beer.

The Co-op’s local category trading manager, Sue Wade, said: “Our locally sourced products are proving extremely successful with our customers and members, who really care about the provenance of their food.

“Our Cow Molly is a great example of how we are championing a better way of doing business for our local communities in Sheffield.”

Our Cow Molly is produced in Dungworth, Sheffield, which is just outside the Peak District and is classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

In April, Our Cow Molly proved it was the cream of the crop by winning an award at a ceremony dubbed the ‘Oscars of the food world.’

The dairy’s ice cream scooped the Future Food Award at the BBC Food and Farming Awards in April this year.
