Sheffield council not increasing license fees for sexual entertainment venues

Leaders at Sheffield City Council are expected to agree fees for a range of licences at a meeting this week.

The authority's licensing committee will meet at 2pm on Thursday, May 10 at the Town Hall.

Officers are recommending that the authority does not increase licensing fees for sexual entertainment venues, casinos, street traders, animal health businesses and approved marriage venues.

The report is, however recommending that fees go up for scrap metal and second hand dealers, pavement cafes and skin piercing establishments.

The authority says that these areas have been targeted because will require the council to "allocate more staff time than in the previous year".
