Sheffield Council issues bin collection update after rounds were suspended in the snow

Sheffield Council has urged residents to leave their bins out if they were not collected yesterday because of the snow.

Collections in the city were suspended yesterday due to snow and ice on the roads and pavements.

Veolia, which collects bins on behalf of the council, said: “Unfortunately, due to the snow and ice on roads and footpaths, not all bins due for collection yesterday, were emptied.

“If your collection did not take place, please leave your bin out until it has been emptied.

“If your bin was not emptied, Sheffield City Council and Veolia have advised that they may be able to collect them today, however they warn this will be dependent on the weather conditions.

“Collections are also planned for Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th January.

“If your bin collection is due today, Friday 15th January 2021, please put your bin out for collection as normal before 7am.”
