Sheffield cook book company served up top award

A Sheffield based publishing company which specialises in cook books has won a prestigious award - less than two years after launching.

Meze Publishing has created The Sheffield Cook Book, featuring recipes from local restaurants and chefs, as well as The Henderson’s Relish Cook Book and Blood, Sweat and Beers for The Milestone restaurant.

The firm won the BestNewcomer Award at the 2016 IPG Independent Publishing Awards.

“The last couple of years have been an amazing journey,” said co-owner Phil Turner.

“To have achieved the success we have had and worked with so many amazing chefs has been hugely satisfying.

“But the really exciting thing is there’s lots more to come from us – and hopefully winning this award will create even more opportunities.”

This year the company is set to release titles from current MasterChef champion Simon Wood and two-Michelin starred chef and judge on Great British Menu, Daniel Clifford. Its Manchester Cook Book was a best seller in Waterstones in the north west.
