Building services firm JDP is urging groups to enter their Community Challenge scheme in which the winners will be offered a ‘golden ticket’ to have their building upgraded. The company is offering two ‘golden tickets’ to organisations based in Sheffield, where it has just launched a second branch, and in Durham where the headquarters is based. The winning entrants will get a visit from a team of JDP workers for the day who will set to work on sprucing up the community facility. But time is running out to be in with a chance of winning this unique prize as organisations have until Friday, July 8, to get their entries in. Chris Hyde, managing director of JDP, said: “JDP are proud of its social responsibility and past fundraising efforts for various charities and It is a privilege to give something back to our local community both in the Durham area and now further south in Sheffield.“The works carried out to last year’s winner made a massive difference to the effectiveness of the centre and we are sure that the same will be said of this year’s golden ticket winner.” Last year’s golden ticket went to Trimdon Grange Community Centre in Durham and jobs carried out included raising a stage, replacing all of the guttering and a fresh lick of paint.
