Students added a splash of colour to the Sheffield city skyline and raised more than £1,000 for student union charities through a fundraiser with a difference.

The second Sheffield Colour Run - held in conjunction with the University of Sheffield Students’ Union and Sheffield Hallam University Students’ Union - attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic participants, all keen to be showered with colour as they completed a 5K route taking in urban landmarks and incredible views of Sheffield.

Between them they managed to raise £1,390 for the two Students’ Union RAG charity groups.

As part of the colour dash, scores of students were doused in a multitude of safe, eco-friendly, plant-based coloured powder which transformed them into a spectacular technicolour canvas.

And after being given a colour makeover the runners set off from South Street Park - the Amphitheatre overlooking the train station - and headed for the iconic urban landmark of Park Hill flats.

They made their way through the iconic old section with its world famous architecture, through the new transformed Urban Splash section, along the hillside overlooking the city and back to South Street.
